American Disposal continues to demonstrate poor customer service and general lack of attention to our community. Residents (including Board members) are experiencing missed service even with change in the collection schedule. The Association released a request for proposal (RFP) last month and will be reviewing the responses at its regular meeting tomorrow, Tuesday July 15th. We anticipate making a decision at that time. However, please understand that if a new company is chosen, the new trash and recycling toters will take about 60 days to be delivered. We will have to deal with the reduced service for a little while longer.
We continue to track the performance of American Disposal (or lack of it). The Board is asking that if your home was missed on either trash or recycling service days, please inform the Association office by sending an email to email@example.com or calling 703-327-5179. The Association staff will pass this information along to American Disposal in addition to compiling it for the Board to use in our ongoing discussions with them.
As we have said before, all trash contractors we have talked to are experiencing similar challenges. Thank you for your patience as we work through this temporary crisis in the trash collection industry.
