Pool Frequently Asked Questions2021-05-26T13:36:32-04:00

Summer 2021 is going to be exciting for Stone Ridge! The facilities are re-opening on May 29 without last year’s COVID-19 restrictions. Here is what Stone Ridge residents can expect from this year’s pool season:

  • Residents are no longer required to make reservations to access the pools.
  • Residents do not need to bring their own chair this year, the pool furniture is out for resident use.
  • Residents are no longer required to sign a waiver form or have their temperatures taken to enter the pool areas.
  • Food and drinks are allowed, keeping a 5-foot distance from the pool edge.
  • Residents can bring their approved water toys.
  • Guest passes are available.

Residents can enjoy three swimming pools, each with a unique variety of features designed to appeal to pool goers of all ages!

WHERE ARE THE POOLS LOCATED?

  • Greenstone Pool – Located at 41995 Greenstone Drive, (703) 542-8399
  • Nettle Mill Pool – Located at 24609 Nettle Mill Square, (703) 542-2673
  • Stone Carver Pool – Located at 24605 Stone Carver Drive, (703) 542-2279

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF THE POOLS?

Pool hours vary depending on if school is in session or out on summer break, holidays, the Sharks Swim Team schedule, and special events. Click here to view pool hours.

WHAT ARE THE POOL RULES?

Pool rules are in place to ensure the safety of all residents enjoying the pools. The entire pool rules (Community Code 9B) can be found here.

DOES EVERYONE NEED A MEMBERSHIP ID CARD?

Anyone 5 years of age or older is required to have a Membership ID Card. If you are a tenant, you are required to have an updated Memorandum of Lease on file at the Association office in order to obtain a Membership ID.

IS THERE A WAY TO GET A DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP ID (pool pass) CARD?

Yes! Download or update the “Stone Ridge HOA” app from your app store. The app has several special features, including access to your online account for your pool usage needs. You are also able to access your online pool pass (Membership ID’s) account here.

Instructions on how to set up your online account for member pool passes (Membership ID’s) and purchasing guest passes can be found here.

MAY I BRING GUESTS TO THE POOLS?

Yes, but guest pool passes are required.

A guest pool pass is required for entry into the pool area, even if the guest does not swim. If you plan on having more than three visitors this summer, you may purchase additional guest pool passes at the rate of $3 per entry/per person (i.e., If you have 2 guests with you, you will need 2 guest passes). All guests must be accompanied by a member 16 years of age or older, and the number of guests is limited to five per household, per day. Pool guests under the age of 5 do not require a guest pass. All pool guests must sign in at the pool desk upon arrival.

With the new online pool pass system (see digital membership ID question above) you are now able to purchase guest passes here. After you have set up your online account and logged in for the first time you will notice you have 3 guest passes loaded onto your account. These are your 3 complementary guest pool passes that you receive annually. You are no longer required to pick up your complimentary guest pool pass card at the Association office. In fact, setting up an online pool pass account is the only way you can get your complementary guest passes.

The guards will have access to your online guest pool pass balance. They will be able to deduct the number of guest passes you are using that date. Under the resident dashboard you will have the ability to see the activity on your account for the last 7 days.

WHAT IF WE HAVE RELATIVES VISITING WHO WISH TO TAKE OUR KIDS TO THE POOL?

If you have relatives visiting that would like to take members of your household under 16 to the pool on your behalf, you are welcome to contact the Association office and request a Resident Authorization form.  The Resident Authorization form is required to be signed off on by an Association staff member. This form gives the exception to the rule since members under 16 are not allowed to bring guests.

WHAT IS PROPER SWIM ATTIRE?

All persons who use the pool must wear appropriate swim attire such as a bathing suit. Loose-fitting or untucked shirts are not permitted to be worn in the swimming pool. Incontinent persons are required to wear swim diapers. Children who are not toilet trained must wear cloth diapers with rubber pants or specifically designed swim-diapers underneath appropriate swimwear such as a bathing suit. Regular disposable diapers that are not permitted to be worn in the pools.

When purchasing religious swim wear, please confirm that the material has been specifically manufactured for swimming pools. Several website offering religious swimsuits include: lyraswimwear.com, simplyzeena.com, and modanisa.com.

Non-compliance with this provision will result in a requirement that the child in question and parent, guardian, childcare provider or Responsible Person leave the pool area until proper attire is obtained and worn at the pool.

WHAT AGE CAN YOU ENTER THE POOL WITHOUT AN ADULT?

Community Code 9B- Responsibility of Pool Users states:

  1. Children’s pool parties may be scheduled at the Greenstone Pool only. You may download the Pool party Request form here and submit to the manager-on-duty at the Greenstone Pool. Please direct all questions to the lifeguard manager-on-duty, not the Association Office.
