Pool Information

Pool Frequently Asked Questions2018-11-14T11:53:41-04:00

Q: Does Everyone Need a Pool Pass?

A: Yes! Membership ID cards are needed for each family member (over 5) that enters the pool. Everyone must have a Membership ID card scanned. If ID cards don’t work, individuals will need to contact the Association office during business hours. If you are a tenant, you are required to have an updated Memorandum of Lease on file at the Association office in order to obtain Membership ID.

Q: What Are the Rules Regarding Guest Passes?

A: Guests (individuals who don’t live in Stone Ridge) may visit and use the pools if the Stone Ridge Member is present with them at the pool. The Member will need to present a Guest Pool pass to the attending guard. The 2018 Pool Guest Passes can be purchased at the rate of five visits for $15 at the Association office; one punch per guest. Each household is allowed up to five guests at a time. Members and their guests need to sign in every time. Members and guests are required to follow all pool rules. One 2017 complimentary guest pass is available for each household and can be obtained at the Association office. Only 2018 guest passes are accepted.

Q: What Age Can You Enter the Pool Without an Adult?

A:

a. Persons who are 13, 14 and/or 15 years old must be accompanied by a Responsible Person at all times UNLESS the relevant 13-15 year old has satisfactorily passed the Association’s designated swimming test and secured written notice from the lifeguard that the swimming test was passed, provided proof of age and has on file a written authorization from a parent or guardian to utilize the pool without an adult. The swimming test and written notice must be provided to the Association prior to the relevant person’s use of the pool. Qualified 13-15 year old persons who have received permission to use the pool alone may NOT have guests without a Responsible Person also present.
b. Persons who are 12 years old and younger must be accompanied and closely supervised
by a competent person aged 16 years or older (“Responsible Person”) at all times in
order to use the pool.
c. Persons who are 16 years old and older may use the pool by themselves and may bring guests who must follow all Pool Rules.
d. At no time shall more than three (3) persons age 5 years old and younger be under the care and/or custody of one Responsible Person.

Q: Why Do I Have to Wear Proper Swimwear?

A: There are several reasons as to why it is important to only wear pool attire in the pool. Cotton street clothes are known to transport airborne and ultimately water borne contaminants into the pool water. Cotton and similar materials may also break down in the water and the fibers may clog the drains. Cotton that has been dyed can bleed into the pool which could alter the chemistry. Also, cotton can absorb the chemicals in the water, causing the water to become less effective at maintaining the proper chemical balance or may cloud the water. Best fabrics for proper swim attire are Lycra and Nylon. Parents of children not yet toilet-trained must ensure their child has snugly fitting rubber pants or swim diapers. Pampers or any type of disposable diapers are not permitted to be worn in any pool.

Q: Are Swimming Toys/Floating Devices Allowed?

A:

General Pool Rules, Section 6, K: Dive sticks and dive rings are not permitted.

Safety Rules, Section 1, D: Toys, with the exception of nerf balls are limited to the roped-off shallow end. Lifeguards have the authority to require that all toys be removed from pool on crowded days.

Safety Rules, Section 1, F: Life preservers, inner tubes, rafts or play equipment are not permitted in the main pool except at the discretion of the pool manager.

Community Code 9A – Responsibility of Pool Users, General Pool Rules, Section 6, K

Stay tuned for Float Nights when the rafts will be permitted.

Q: What Safety Float Devices for Children are allowed?

A:

Children using approved flotation devices (i.e., water wings or United States Coast Guard approved life vests) must be within arms reach of a parent, guardian or Responsible Person at all times.

Community Code 9A – Responsibility of Pool Users, Safety Rules, Section 1, E

Q: Is Alcohol Allowed at the Pools?

A: When attending the pools this summer, please remember that absolutely no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the pool or on the pool deck at any time. Persons suspected of possessing alcohol or being intoxicated will not be permitted in the pool area at any time. Failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for members to be deprived the use of the pool by the pool manager.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Stone Ridge pools a safe environment for all residents.

Q: How Can I Schedule a Pool Party?

A: Children’s pool parties may be scheduled at Greenstone Pool, with the completion of a Pool Party Request Form and upon approval from the Pool Manager. The 2018 Pool Party Request form is available for download online, the Association Office, or at the Greenstone Pool upon opening for the season!
