September 19 – Dave Keuhner, the father of Champe junior catcher Jaden Keuhner, is leading a donation effort for those affected by last week’s Hurricane Florence, which is blamed for over 30 deaths in three states, dumped over three feet of rain on parts of North Carolina and caused an estimated $20 billion in damages.
Keuhner will pick up a moving truck tomorrow and purchase supplies at Costco, Home Depot and Lowes, then will be accepting the donation of supplies at the Glory Days located at 42010 Village Center Plaza in Stone Ridge on Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Needed items include cleaning and yard supplies, canned foods, personal hygiene products, diapers, batteries, trash bags and scented candles.
A lot is needed, it’s so bad,” Dave Keuhner wrote via email. “The news doesn’t do it any justice.”
Additionally, those interested in donating monetarily can do so via PayPal to Lori Keuhner at lkeuhner@yahoo.com, and supplies can also be mailed to the attention of Ray Baca at The Warehouse, located at 15 Water St., Wilmington, N.C., 28401.
Keuhner is the founder and owner of One Family Brewing. Other partners in the relief effort include Glory Days, Belfort Furniture and Rebellion DC & NC. For more information, contact Keuhner at dkeuhner@yahoo.com.
